Top 5 Best Power Rack for Home Gym - Ranked

In this article today we're going to be talking about the top power racks for home gyms in India, I will also be covering all budget ranges starting from the cheapest racks to premium heavy-duty power racks. When I'm talking about cheap power racks, it basically means it is cheaper compared to the other options in the market as power racks are a category of equipment that you cannot get for cheap, and if you do, you will seriously suffer. There are only two companies I would say that are making good quality racks for home gyms namely siege fitness and bullrock fitness. Other manufacturers are primarily commercial and not for home gyms, however, racks from siege and bullrock fitness are most of the time much better than commercial ones, let's now look at the offerings from these companies.

BEST POWER RACK UNDER INR 30,000

This is the siege gladiator power rack and easily the best power rack in India in this price segment. There is not another rack that can compete in terms of price-to-value ratio with this rack as the build quality of this rack is at par with much more expensive siege racks, however, you are getting that at a relatively smaller frame with all the same versatility and features as well.

You will see cheaper squat racks and power racks on amazon however the quality of those racks cannot be compared to this one. I have previously owned one of those racks and the sheer weight and quality difference are just visible when you move the rack, if you want to know further how power rack companies are cheating you, then read this article of ours.

PROS

• 2x2 inch, 11 gauge steel

• 30 inch depth

• Multigrip Pull up bar

• 2 inch hole spacing

• Drop tested with 250kgs

• Static load test of 800kgs +

• Compatible with all siege attachments

• Lifetime warranty

CONS

• Pin & Pipe safety spotters

The only con of this rack that I could find was the pin and pipe safeties, they work great and can handle 800kgs of weight however there are difficult to adjust and time-consuming, I'm not a big fan of pin and pipe safeties however for the price I do think it's good, much more expensive spotter systems like box or strap safeties will just unnecessarily hike up the price of this rack.

Whereas talking about the pros I was very impressed by the thickness of the steel used, finding 11 gauge steel at this price point is very rare and makes the rack very stable, the 2-inch hole spacing is a lifesaver from the 4-inch hole spacing we see in power racks in this budget, another thing that I really liked was the multi-grip pull up bar, siege could've easily went with a regular straight pull up bar to cut costs but instead, they are giving you a multi grip pull up bar to provide the best value for money to you, which is commendable.

Overall I don't think you can go wrong with this power rack, since my youtube review video on this dozens of my subscribers have got this rack and I've not received one single complaint about it everybody loves the build quality, and for that reason, I can blindly recommend it to you, get it below

BEST SQUAT RACK UNDER 30,000

If you want to save space but still want to get something that is good quality, then the bullrock raptor squat stand is the right fit for you. It is one of the best value-for-money racks from bullrock with a great price tag I would say, as most of their home gym equipments are priced at a premium.

Being a design of a squat rack it is more space saving in total volume of space but if you talk about footprints is takes around 49 x 47 inch area as bullrock states on their website, so you would at least need a 4x4 feet area to fit this rack and at least an 8x4 feet area to load a barbell to do various movements.

PROS

• 2.5 x 2.5 inch, 11 gauge steel

• 180kg drop tested

• 300kg Static load tested

• 24 inch long spotter arms

• Takes less space

• Colour options

CONS

• Only 5 years warranty

• 86 inches height

I couldn't understand why there's only a 5-year warranty on this rack, as I'm pretty sure that the build quality will easily outlast that however, I had to put it as a con even though I don't think you will face any real issues with this rack when it comes to build quality. The height of this squat rack is 86 inches which is somewhat less and people taller than 5'9 feet can face while doing pull-ups, as the legs will touch the ground, however, that's a minor inconvenience that can be overlooked.

I think this is a great value-for-money rack, I haven't used it personally but only seen and heard good things about it, the 2-inch hole spacing is really nice along with the 2.5-inch uprights as the extra width will help with the stability of this rack since it has only two uprights. If you squat anything less than 180 - 200kgs you will feel pretty safe on it, however, it is always recommended to get a power rack if you're lifting that heavy.

Overall I would recommend it if you're specifically looking for a squat rack and want to save some space. Get it below

BEST PREMIUM POWER RACK

The best premium power rack goes to the siege mammoth rack, this is an absolutely huge power rack which not only takes up a lot of space but also weighs over 200kgs. If you're looking for a premium power rack in India then this is the one for you, not only is the build quality super sturdy but the number of attachments you get with this rack will not make you miss your commercial gym workouts.

Siege has a lot of attachments for their racks, starting from dip bars, landmine, and barbell storage, however, my favourite are their jammer arms which basically help you replicate all your commercial gym machines into a home gym alternative, with the siege jammer arms you will be able to replicate any chest press machine or rowing machines as well as belt squats.

PROS

• 3x3 inch, 11 gauge steel

• 2-inch hole spacing

• Numbering in all holes

• 43-inch depth

• Both box safety and safety strap options

• Multi grip pull-up bar

• Floor runners to avoid floor bolting

• 1500kgs static weight tested

• Lifetime warranty

CONS

• Couldn't find any

I really tried to look for cons in this rack but I couldn't find any, the 1500kgs weight capacity test was very impressive along with the numberings on each and every hole as it makes it much easier to find the right hole on the opposite side. What I love the most are safety straps which I don't think any other company in India has come out with yet, safety straps are the best form of safety as they are very easy to adjust with just one hand and offer the best protection to your barbell by acting like a cushion

If you just want the best then this is it, in terms of quality and accessories I think this is the best power rack in India that you can currently buy and the jammer arms with this rack just increase the exercise variation by a lot. No matter how heavy you squat this rack is not moving anywhere.

I have had a couple of subscribers who bought this rack and they loved it as well, they mainly liked how stable the rack feels while squatting as well as the multigrip pullup bar was the one thing that those people really liked, get it below

PREMIUM POWER RACK RUNNER UP

The bullrock gorilla power rack comes runner-up in the premium power rack category for a couple of reasons that I have discussed below, this is a premium offering from bullrock and its price has actually gone down by a lot since it was released which is a great thing. I have seen this power rack being used in many gyms all across India and it stands out the most compared to any other equipment.

It is drop tested with 450kgs where it didn't move one bit and that just shows the stability of this rack, bullrock offers various depth options for this power rack however we will be talking about the 41-inch depth only as in my opinion that is much better and will not require floor mounting as a compulsory feature like bullrock says in their website for their 30 and 24 inch depth racks.

PROS

• 3x3 inch, 11 gauge steel

• Westside hole spacing

• 450kgs drop tested

• 41-inch depth

• Various colour options

• Various bullrock attachments

CONS

• Pin & Pipe safety spotters

• No multi-grip pull up bar

• Numbering on only a few holes

• 10 years warranty

What I don't like about this rack is the pin and pipe safeites, at this price range I would like to see box safeties or better yet strap safeties, I think even if there's an increase in price to accommodate that it becomes a much better value for money as pin & pipe safeties damage your barbells and are very difficult to adjust as well as are very time consuming to adjust. Another thing is the numbering which is not done on every hole which makes adjusting the pin and pipe safeties even more difficult and you are highly likely to put it in the wrong hole.

A multi-grip pull up bar also would've been great at this price as it increases the exercise variation by a lot, it is a greatly stable rack but misses some of the features which are to be expected when we're dealing with the premium price category.

Another thing I would like to comment on is the 10 year warranty, although 10 years is a very long time however I would've liked to see a lifetime warranty as I'm pretty sure that this rack can last you an entire lifetime, but the manufacturer giving you that confidence that if something goes wrong with the rack, they will take care of it as well would've been great, but overall I think this is a great rack that you cannot go wrong with. BEST VALUE SQUAT RACK

The best value-for-money squat rack is the siege centurion squat rack mainly because of its price and what you are getting for that. This is a premium squat rack that siege makes in the same build quality of 3x3 inch 11 gauge steel as their mammoth power rack, but instead of 4 uprights, there are two which greatly save space. In foot print, the siege squat rack takes up a lot less space as compared to the power rack at 48 x 47 inches which is around 4x4 feet.

Previously siege made the 2x2 inch 11 gauge steel hydra squat rack which I own however now siege has upgraded that rack to this and this is just much more stable than my rack, I've never had any issues with my rack however this is just a notch above in terms of build quality as well as stability.

PROS

• 3x3 inch, 11 gauge steel

• 2 inch hole spacing

• 8mm thick spotter arms

• 48-inch long floor runners for stability

• Numberings on every hole

CONS

• 18-inch spotter arm length

The only con I found in this squat rack was the length of the spotter arms, which are good enough however I would've liked them to be a bit longer. I haven't had any issues with 18 inch spotter arms but since this is a premium offering I would've liked to see upwards of 20 inches in the length.

One problem I have with my hydra squat rack is that it has no numberings on the holes so I misplaced the J cups every time however that issue is gone with this rack as you have numberings on every hole. The length of the floor runner is also great as it provides the much need stability in a squat rack. This is a very stable squat rack and you can squat some serious numbers on this rack. My hydra squat rack was drop tested with 200kgs, so imagine how much weight this will be able to take.

I think the best thing about the rack is the price which is around INR 35,000 which is quite low considering this is a premium offering from siege, I wouldn't want to pay extra to get longer spotter arms honestly as you would have to learn how to walk your squats and you just cannot go running behind with the bar on your back. If you're in a budget but want a premium offering then this is rack I would suggest, which you can also upgrade to a half rack later if you want, more info on that below

BEST PREMIUM SQUAT RACK

For the best premium squat rack, we have the bullrock gorilla squat rack and this is a very stable rack, it has been drop tested with 300kgs where it did move a bit however you are not going to drop it from that height anyway and if you fail a squat or bench this rack will easily be able to take the load.

This is bullrock's premium squat rack and has the same build quality as their bullrock gorilla power rack just with 2 uprights instead of 4. This is the same 3x3 inch, 11 gauge steel build and that is where the main stability of the rack comes from. This also has west side hole spacing which is a premium feature and helps you make micro adjustments when setting up for bench press.

PROS

• 3x3 inch, 11 gauge steel

• Westside hole spacing

• 8mm thick spotter arms

• 49-inch long floor runners

• 24-inch-long spotter arms

CONS

• Only a few holes have numberings

Like their power rack, since the upright is the same you will have issues adjusting your j cups and spotter arms due to every hole not being numbered, I would say numbering on every hole would've been a better feature as compared to the west side hole spacing as it doesn't serve a bigger purpose than the numbering does.

However, I really like the fact that the spotter arms are 24 inches long, this provides you with enough room to fail a squat behind if you wish to as well, however with this long length as well you will have to learn how to walk out a squat properly to utilize the length for safety. I was also very impressed by the 300kg drop test which the rack was able to withstand proving the build quality and stability is top-notch.

You cannot go wrong with this rack if space saving is what you are after but don't want to compromise on stability either, get it below
